| A Decorated Passageway to a Pandel |
| In recent years "Theme Pujo" has become a hot favorite in Calcutta (Kolkata). Not only the Pandel but the entire region surrounding the Pandal is decorated to create an ambiance representing the theme. In this photo the theme was Buddhist Monastery. The photo shows a passageway similar to those which leads to a Monastery. But in this case it leads to a makeshift structure of a Monastery, which houses the idol of Durga and her five children. |
